چکیده

Spatial interaction models are used to simulate interactions between residents in a given area and some facility. Principal factors innuencing the degree of interaction are the distance from a household to the facility, the size and type of population within the area, the attractiveness of the facility and the competition from other facilities in the area. The spatial interaction model discussed in this paper estimates sales from car dealerships. Software developed by GMAP Ltd. combines this model with an optimisation technique to nd prootable networks of car dealerships; this software is used by Ford of Britain to help in planning their sales delivery system. Parallel implementation of this spatial interaction model on a CM-200 is described, along with a discussion of the performance gains (some three orders of magnitude) relative to the serial code and their implications for future use of the model.

Modelling potential impacts of climate change on the oak spatial distribution (Case study: Ilam and Lorestan provinces)

Examining the effects of climate change on the oak spatial distribution, as the main species of Zagros forests and its ecological and economic values is of significant importance. Here, we used species distribution models for simulating current climatic suitability of oak and its potential changes in 2050 and 2070. For this purpose, five regression-based and machine learning approaches, four cl...

Modelling of the spatial distribution of the rare plant Lilium ledebourii

The aim of this study was modelling the spatial distribution ofLilium ledebourii (Baker) Boiss. based on ecological characteristics, in order to predict potential habitats for conservation of a rare plant. Knowledge of the spatial distributions of rare and threatened species and the underlying ecological factors plays an important role in regional conservation assessments and development planni...

SPOT PATTERNS IN GRAY SCOTT MODEL WITH APPLICATION TO EPIDEMIC CONTROL

In this work, we analyse a pair of two-dimensional coupled reaction-diusion equations known as the Gray-Scott model, in which spot patterns have been observed. We focus on stationary patterns, and begin by deriving the asymptotic scaling of the parameters and variables necessary for the analysis of these patterns. A complete bifurcation study of these solutions is presented. The main mathematic...
